For the curious and the irreparably bored.

I'm Josh, a 23-year-old guy traveling the world prepping soldiers for combat command in the United States Army before they get deployed to serve their country. When I interviewed for the job and decided I would go for it, I began to seriously consider taking up amateur photography and make more out of my beginning career. My interest in photography is due, in no small part, to ~shmeiliarockie, who is making photography her profession.

I presently shoot with a Canon Kiss Digital X, aka Digital Rebel XTi. It sports the alternate model name since I bought it while in Japan. I use three lenses for now, Canon's 18-55mm, 28-135mm, and 10-22mm (my favorite). As of right now, I don't have any particular goals or style in what I choose as my subjects, although lately I've been partial to saturating color over subdued or B&W, and in wide-angle vs. macro (but acquiring a macro lens is on my near-future list).

After the camera has performed its role, Photoshop steps up to tempt me. Since Photoshop is such a temptress for me, you will find a large chunk of my work filed under Photomanipulation as time chugs on. As I said before, I have been recently interested in saturated color, which Photoshop obviously can do very well. Put one and two together and you can presume that I shoot RAW. Well, I do and I haven't looked back since I started.
